Why Are Fuel Prices Going Up? – Infographic

What happened?

When a drone attack destroyed Saudi Aramco oil facilities,
production went down from 10m barrels a day to 5.7m.

On Monday 16th of September, oil prices rose 15% which was the
biggest jump since the Gulf War. Later on the day, prices eased back
down but at a higher rate than before.

The lower production volumes resulted in a three pence rise in prices
in the UK.

Will they rise again?

Fears over further military action in the region may also lead to rises
in the near future. The time it takes for the Saudi authorities to repair
their processing facilities may also adversely affect prices.
