Worst Postcodes for Speeding

Data from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) has revealed the worst areas in the UK for speeding.

Speeding counts for 85% of the UK’s driving offences. 3.3 million drivers currently have penalty points on their license for an “SP” offence. But cases of speeding have seen a dramatic 8% increase over the last year.
The data from the DVLA analysed offences in each postcode. City centres and urban areas made up the majority of those at the top of the list. But, postcodes in more rural areas tended to have fewer offences.

But these figures only account for penalised drivers. Data from Government traffic tracking found that more than half of all drivers broke the speed limits in 30mph zones. The data also showed 90% of drivers ignore 20mph speed limits.
The average penalty for speeding is a £100 fine and 3 points on your licence. But some fines can go up to £2500 and 6 points. The most serious offences may result in a complete driving ban.
