Cambrian Expands Fuel Card Range
Cambrian Fuel Card Services has significantly increased its fuel card portfolio in the last year, with the addition of three new cards – Esso National, Esso Truck and Shell EV.
The Esso National card covers 43 per cent of the garages in the UK, giving customers access to the Esso, Shell and BP brands.
Meanwhile, the Shell EV card is a complete refuelling solution, enabling customers to use over 3,000 charging points nationwide as well as 3,800 conventional fuel sites.
Cambrian provides fuel cards and telematics solutions to UK businesses of all sizes. The business started as an oil distribution company in 1976 and had a fleet of tankers delivering fuels and lubricants from Cardiff Docks to customers in South Wales.
History
In 1993 it identified an opportunity to sell its fuel through fuel cards and has been doing so ever since.
Its range of eight fuel card options now comprises: Shell Fleet, Shell CRT, Shell Electric Vehicle, Texaco Fastfuel, Keyfuels, UKfuels, Esso National, and Esso Truck.
Mission
“Our cards are accepted at over 8,000 stations and over 3,000 charging points nationwide. Our mission is to offer a range of national fuel cards and telematics solutions to our clients with a level of customer service skills and staff satisfaction that is second to none. We achieve this by partnering with some of the largest fuel brands in the UK and by constantly looking for new technology to improve our services”.
“Cambrian offers a simple transparent service to its clients. Our customers can access their accounts through our newly re-developed online account portal.
“Clients can now download their transactions, mileage reports and copy invoices as well as being able to order new cards at any time. If at any time a card doesn’t suit their business, they can swap and change their fuel cards to fit their business requirements”.
The company also emphasises its customer service offering, and says it is currently in the process of strengthening its sales team.
“We work very hard to make sure that our staff are among the best within the industry,” it said.
“We are constantly investing in new technology… [and] make sure that our phones are answered quickly by professionals who can handle the calls and look after the people that pay our wages – i.e. our clients…
“We implement regular training for staff as well as promoting personal development and further qualifications.”
Pandemic Response
During the pandemic, the company remained open with a full complement of staff who were on-call 24/7 ready to assist customers who provided front-line services. These included ambulance trusts, food distributors, logistics companies and mountain rescue organisations.
Innovation
Last year, Cambrian launched its Fuel Station Locator mobile app. The app helps customers find the nearest station to them in their card network. It currently has over 10,000 downloads.
“We have also partnered with two of the UK’s top telematics firms to offer our customers telematics solutions”.
“Telematics gives fleet managers unprecedented real-time control over their fleet activity…“We are also showing our commitment towards the environment by becoming a climate positive workplace. Through our partners Ecologi, we offset the carbon emissions in our office by investing in tree planting and sustainable eco-projects throughout the UK.”
